PX Series Operating Principle
Operating the keys exerts force directly on the gold contacts providing reliable switching of low energy circuits and dependable operation over a wide range of electronic voltages. Because this operation depends upon operator speed, it is classified as slow make, slow break. The key plunger should be depressed fully to assure proper contact closure.
The drawing below shows a typical switching waveform across the load under actuating conditions. Dynamic switch resistance may vary during the read interval. When interfacing directly with electronic circuitries they should be buffered to accommodate this type of switch output. Many microprocessor/computer units have necessary buffer circuits already built in.
